CHICOPEE, Mass. (Mass Appeal) – Cookies are a simple sweet treat that are perfect for any occasion, no matter the season! Owner and head decorator at Evelyn’s Bakery Evelyn Vargas and cake decorator Marie Brault joined us to share some simple summer cookie recipes!
Sugar cookie dough:
6 Cups All purpose flour
3 tsp. baking powder
2 Cups of soften room temp. unslated butter (4 sticks)
2 Cups of sugar
2 tsp. of vanilla or flavoring of your choice
1 tsp. of salt
In a mixing bowl cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. In another bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt and combine together. When butter and sugar are creamed and ready add the two eggs and flavoring to the mix and mix until combined. Scrap down the bowl and slowly add flour mixture until throughtly combined and dough forms a ball. Remove dough from bowl and wrap with plastic and chill in the fridge for 1-2 hrs. Once dough is chilled cut into quarters so you can kneed the dough. Roll it out and cut into desired shapes. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 mins or unil edges are golden brown. Decorate as desired.
