SUNDERLAND, Mass. (WWLP) – State and Sunderland Police are trying to determine how a woman’s body ended up in the Connecticut River in Franklin County.
The woman’s body was found in the river not far from the Route 116 Bridge around 7:00 Wednesday night.
Sunderland Police Chief Jeffrey Gilbert told 22News they were waiting for the medical examiner from Holyoke before moving the body. The access road to the river was blocked off to traffic at School Street.
Trooper Reid Bagley from State Police Media Relations told 22News that the District Attorney investigates any unattended death.
