SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – AIC’s longtime director of public relations, Craig Greenberg, passed away early Tuesday morning. He was 62.
Craig is survived by his wife, Carmen.
The American International College has issued the following statement on Craig’s passing:
It is with great sadness that we share the news that Craig Greenberg, AIC’s longtime director of public relations, passed away early this morning (June 24, 2014).
Craig was an excellent co-worker and an even better person. His kindness was genuine and his good humor was contagious, and the AIC family will miss him greatly. An employee of AIC since 1980, many people in the AIC community and in the greater Springfield area knew him and had a deep admiration for him.
In his highly visible role at AIC, Craig relished the opportunity to develop relationships with reporters, news outlets, media agencies, and multiple organizations and constituencies across the region.
AIC’s president, Vince Maniaci, was saddened by the news of Craig’s passing. “Craig loved building relationships and he loved the media, and he worked hard to make sure the good things happening at AIC were covered in the press,” Maniaci said. “His easy way with people no doubt aided him in those efforts. My sincerest condolences go out to his family, his friends, and all who will miss him. This is a tremendous loss.”
Outside of work, Craig avidly pursued his passion for music. Most recently he played guitar in the Jus Us Band, a Springfield-based “funky-soul” band that was regularly booked at parties, events, and for recurring engagements at area venues, including the Mohegan Sun Casino.
