AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP) – A suspect who allegedly attacked a man in Amherst Sunday night is expected to be arraigned Monday at Eastern Hampshire District Court.
Amherst Police Lt. Ronald Young notified 22News that around 7:30 P.M., police were called to Kellogg Avenue for a report of a disturbance. There, they found a 51-year old man form Amherst who was in the roadway and unconscious. Amherst firefighters took the victim to Baystate Medical Center.
Young says investigators identified the suspect as Julian Munn, 47, of Springfield, who had argued with the victim earlier that evening, leading to a fight. Witnesses saw Munn strike the victim several times, causing the victim’s head to hit a curb. The victim had what Young referred to as “significant head injuries,” but is in stable condition at Baystate Medical Center.
Munn was arrested and is held at the Hampshire County House of Correction in Northampton on $1,000 bail.
