CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – As students head home from college for the summer, one candidate for Governor is traveling throughout the state of Massachusetts to talk about how much those classes are costing them.
Republican candidate for governor Charlie Baker stopped by the 22News studios on Monday to talk about his proposal to lower costs. Baker mentioned his ideas to expand on more online courses, as well as expediting the typical 4 year degree.
“I think the Commonwealth ought to have a 3 year degree program as part of its offering on every level for kids,” Baker told 22News. “If they want to go in 3 years, I think we ought to be able to let them do that, and that will save that childs cost of education by 25%.”
Baker spoke at Elms College about these ideas and proposals before meeting with us.
