Amherst police seeking witnesses to stabbing

Unclear where attack took place

AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP) – Amherst police are trying to figure out who stabbed a man in the stomach Sunday night, and just where the crime took place.

Police Lt. Ronald Young told 22News that officers were called to the Boulders apartments on East Hadley Road at around 11:15, where they found a 24 year-old man with a stab wound to the stomach area.

The victim was taken to Baystate Medical Center, but is expected to survive.

Young says that the victim is not cooperating with them, but police believe that the stabbing did not happen at the Boulders, but rather at another apartment complex in town.

They are seeking witnesses to the attack, and are asking anyone with information to call the detective bureau at (413) 259-3015.
