Police searching for suspects involved in home invasion

SPRINGFIELD, Mass (WWLP) — Springfield police are looking for five Hispanic men they said were involved in an armed home invasion late Saturday night.

Springfield police Lieutenant Thomas Maccini told 22News the five men, all dressed in black, entered a home at 87 Fountain Street just after 10:30 Saturday night.

He said one was armed with a shotgun, another with a black handgun.

They reportedly put a gun up to someone in the home and struck a man with the butt of the shotgun, but he didn’t need to go to the hospital.

That’s when they allegedly stole a large sum of money from a fanny pack strapped to the victim’s chest and got away.
