LUDLOW, Mass. (WWLP) – A report of a man with a gun led Ludlow police to surround a normally quiet side street Thursday morning.
Ludlow Police Sgt. Mark Witowski told 22News that officers were called to 52 Aldo Drive shortly before 9:00 A.M. on a report of an “unstable” man with a gun.
Witowski said it was confirmed that the man was still in the house, so police set up a perimeter, surrounding the building and the nearby street.
Police began making contact with the man, identified as 54 year-old Jerome Casey, who Witowski said ultimately exited the home and confronted officers. Police quickly brought Casey into custody, and he was taken to Baystate Medical Center.
According to Witowski, police then searched the house (which is where Casey lives) and they seized guns, ammunition, and other dangerous weapons.
Casey is being charged with possession of a firearm without a valid LTC/FID permit and possession of ammunition without an FID card.
