HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – A 26-year-old man from Holyoke was stabbed Monday afternoon in Holyoke. Holyoke Police Lt. Jim Albert told 22News the victim is in critical condition.
Albert says the victim was stabbed around 12:15 p.m. near the corner of Mosher and Center Streets. He would not tell us the victim’s name, but did say he is Hispanic.
Police cordoned-off the intersection in the city’s Flats neighborhood, as they conducted their investigation in the area.
Our 22News crew could see that police tape had been set up, roping off all corners of the intersection. People were not allowed to come onto Mosher Street from West Street as well, and all nearby alleyways were blocked-off by police, who had been setting up evidence markers in the area.
Holyoke Police and State Police are investigating.
