First Cultural Chaos festival

EASTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP)–Cottage Street in Easthampton will be closed to traffic for the majority of the day, Saturday, for the first ever Cultural Chaos Festival.

From 10 A.M. to 7 P.M., Cottage Street will be closed between Maple and Orchard Streets.  There is no parking allowed on Maple, Chapel, or Cottage Streets, in the heart of the city’s cultural district, in Easthampton.

The festival began at 11 A.M. Saturday.

Marketing Chair for the Cottage Street Cultural District, Josh Rosenblatt, told 22News the festival will have lots of food, music, and local business vendors.  Rosenblatt also says the event is expected to drat anywhere from 3,000 to 5,000 people.

A portion of Saturday’s festival is being paid for through grant money, the rest through local business sponsors.

The Cultural Chaos event is happening just two weeks after the city’s old town hall received state grant money to renovate the building.  That grant money came from the Promoting Community Development and Tourism in Central and Western Mass program.
