CHICOPEE, Mass. (Mass Appeal) – Father’s Day is a special occasion and it is a great excuse to make your father a special drink. Mary Mercier, manager of the Yarde Tavern in South Hadley, showed us how to mix up some old fashioned cocktails.
1 1/2 ounces Scotch
1/2 ounce amaretto
Build the ingredients in an old-fashioned glass with ice cubes
2 ounces of Dads favorite tequila
1 ounce dry vermouth
1 small whole habanero pepper for garnish
Pour the tequila and dry vermouth into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
Strain into the chilled cocktail glass.
Garnish with a habanero pepper.
1 1/2 ounces dark rum
1/2 ounce amaretto liqueur
Pour the dark rum and amaretto into a collins glass filled with ice.
Top with cola.
1 ounce Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey
1 ounce triple sec
1 ounce sour mix
Lemon-lime soda (You can also use your favorite lemonade)
Pour the whiskey, triple sec, and sour mix into a collins glass filled with ice.
Top with soda.
