Police are seeking high bail for Nadeau, who allegedly was planning to go to South Carolina prior to her capture.
On Thursday, police notified 22News and other local media outlets about Nadeau, and Delaney says they received numerous calls about her location.
Delaney says that Nadeau had contacted the elderly victim when she had advertised that her trailer was for sale. The victim and her husband allowed Nadeau to stay with them after she convinced the couple that she had fallen on hard times. It was then that Nadeau allegedly took the woman’s debit and credit cards, and withdrew more than $10,000 from her bank account.
She will be arraigned in Springfield District Court on Friday on charges of larceny over $250 by a single scheme, larceny over $250 from a person over 60 years of age, and entering a dwelling at night without breaking by false pretense.
Delaney says that police are looking into whether there are any other elderly people who may have been victimized by Nadeau.
