Tips on protecting your privacy on Facebook

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Over the years Facebook has had a “complicated” relationship with user privacy. 22News is working for you with some simple ways to protect your Facebook information.

First, one of Facebook’s newest features is called Nearby Friends and it alerts your friends when you’re nearby.

Enabling that feature triggers Facebook’s Location History, which saves a master list of all the places you go.

Malware also comes in many forms on Facebook, so don’t click any ads, because they could crash your computer.

Also, Facebook keeps track of everything you search for on the social network, so make sure to clear your Facebook search history.
