Pet of the Week: Big Boy

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (Mass Appeal) – Meet Mass Appeal’s pet of the week!

Name: Big Boy
Breed: Ragdoll Mix
Age: 6 years
Sex: Male
Color: Black & White

Date of surrender: June 1
Reason for Surrender and Description: Big Boy – a stray cat – was found by a family in South Hadley who were kind enough to feed him and bring him to Dakin so we can find him a permanent home. Big Boy is just one of MANY black or black & white cats whose adoption fees have been reduced to $25 from now through Saturday, June 14!

$25 Black Cat Event
Now through Saturday, June 14, Dakin will offer a great reduced adoption fee of $25 for black or black & white cats 6 months or older! We happen to have a lot of black cats right now and we created this promotion to give them a better chance of finding a new home. This special pricing will be available in both the Springfield and Leverett locations. They say every woman needs a little black dress…and we believe every home needs a little black (or black & white) cat!

Dakin Community Flea Market
This takes place at our Union Street location in Springfield this Saturday, June 14 from 9am – 2pm. What began in planning as a simple, low-key community flea market has blossomed into a wonderful event that has attracted more than 30 different vendors! We’ll have people selling animal-related items (of course) plus baked goods, crafts, jewelry, and household items. Plus we’ll have a photo booth, face painting and a professional pet photographer.

Pet Safety Tips
No table foods, moldy foods, poultry bones
