CHICOPEE, Mass. (Mass Appeal) – Incorporating vegetable plants as ornamental plants in your flower will not only look vibrant, it will also be delicious for you and your family to eat all season long! Master Gardener Ed Sourdiffe joined us to talk about edible landscapes.
Why incorporate vegetable plants as ornamental plants in the flower garden:
1) The combination helps attract more pollinators to the vegetable plants so more fruit etc.
2)Great for small lots doubling your use of space.
3)By mixing the vegetable plants in the flower garden you can hide the veggies from their pests and even repel some pests from the veggies and/or the flowers.
4)Some vegetable garden plants are just plain pretty.
