Treehouse Foundation is an award-winning nonprofit with two major initiatives:
1) Treehouse Community is intergenerational, multi-racial community where elders and families with foster and adoptive children live in a close knit neighborhood and invest in each others’ lives. The Community is located in Easthampton, MA and opened in 2006.
2) The Re-Envisioning Foster Care in America Movement (REFCA), founded in 2010, is regional and national. REFCA creates a menu of engagement opportunities for all interested Americans to support children and families in the foster care system. REFCA’s innovative programs and practices which address the needs of children who experience foster care and the needs of their foster/adoptive parents, whether or not a city or town decides to build a Treehouse-inspired community.
