Stroke survivor happy he’s a father

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A stroke can happen in an instant, but the recovery process takes time.

Kevin Breveleri suffered a stroke when he was just 21 years old.  All because of an illness he has battled since he was a child.

His speech was affected and his mobility on his right side has been limited and he is still recovering 13 years later with help from Baystate Medical Center, but now Breveleri has a child of his own.

“I have to do everything a little bit different.  People have 2 hands but I can change the diaper, I can feed him, I can you know do everything a 2 handed person would,” Kevin Breveler said.

Breveleri said he still goes to therapy twice a week, but said everyday he sees his son, he knows it will be a good day.
