Over 2,800 lost power in Northampton due to crash

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Over 2-thousand people were without power in the Florence section of Northampton, Wednesday night, after a car hit a utility police.

The National Grid power outage map was showing 2,878 had no power around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. All power was restored around 9:50 p.m.

According to Northampton Police Officer John McCarthy, the cause of the outage was a car hitting a utility pole on Ryan Road. No one was seriously injured. Police are investigating the accident.
