WARE, Mass. (WWLP) – Ware police have arrested a man who they say went into the ladies’ room of a Walmart store and exposed himself to two young girls.
Chief Dennis M. Healey told 22News that Justin Kiritsy, 22, of North Brookfield was arrested Tuesday morning, one day after the alleged incident at the Walmart on Route 32.
According to Healey, the victims, aged 8 and 9, told police that they were in the women’s bathroom when a man entered. As they exited the stall, the man exposed his genitals to them.
The girls went to their mother, who reported it to the service desk. Employees then alerted police.
Healey says that officers conducted an investigation, which led them to Kiritsy. The suspect was contracted to do some work for the store, though he is not an employee of Walmart itself. They arrested him as he returned to work on Tuesday morning.
The alleged incident happened on Kiritsy’s first day working at the Ware Walmart, Healey said.
Kiritsy is charged with two counts of open and gross lewdness, which is a felony, and was arraigned Tuesday at Eastern Hampshire District Court in Belchertown. According to Mary Carey, spokesperson for the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office, Kiritsy was released following his arraignment on the conditions that he had no unsupervised contact with any children under 16, except immediate family members. He also has to undergo a mental health evaluation.
He is due in court again on July 29.
Carey says that Kiritsy is not registered as a sex offender, but he was arrested for similar charges out of Holyoke in 2010.
