Greenfield Police arrest wrong way scooter driver

GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A man driving a scooter on the wrong side of the road has been arrested for drunk driving and possession of heroin, say Greenfield Police.

Greenfield Police arrested Matthew Nartowicz, 25, of Northfield around 2:30 Wednesday morning. Officer Cody Guilbault saw Nartowicz riding a small motor scooter on the wrong side of the road near Pierce and Davis Streets.

Officer Guilbault stopped the scooter and noticed an alcoholic odor coming from the driver’s mouth. Police said Nartowicz had a blood alcohol content level of .10. The BAC legal limit in Massachusetts is .08. Police also found a package believed to be heroin in his wallet.

Nartowicz faces multiple charges including OUI and possession of heroin.
