Body recovered in CT River south of French King Bridge

GILL, Mass. (WWLP) – The Turners Falls Fire Department recovered a dead body Tuesday on the Gill side of the Connecticut River.

According to Mary Carey of the Northwestern DA’s office, the male body was found by people fishing in the river, one mile south of the French King Bridge, around noon Tuesday.

The Montague Police Department have confirmed that the body is that of the man who had taken his own life by jumping off the French King Bring on June 2nd.

The identity of the body is still under investigation and will be released in the next few days by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
