Mohegan Sun wants signs off the Mass Pike removed

PALMER, Mass. (WWLP) – It’s a story we told you about first on Friday.  Mohegan Sun who wanted to build a casino in Palmer before losing a referendum, is trying to crack down on the signs you see coming off Exit 8 of the Mass Pike.

Mohegan Sun sent a letter to its land owners demanding that these signs need to be removed from their property or they could default on their lease. The letter also states specifically that political signs in support of Town Councilor Paul Burns must be removed.

“They said they want all these signs removed in 30 days, that includes that community information sign it’s a public service.  What problem could Mohegan Sun possibly have with that, but they seem too,” said Burns.

By state law, at least the political signs would have to be removed by the weekend.
