Store clerk in Springfield robbed at gunpoint

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP)– A store clerk in Springfield is shaken up after an armed robbery overnight.

Springfield Police Lt. Thomas Maccini told 22News two men went into the Tedeschi Food Shop, at the intersection of Breckwood Blvd. and Boston Road, held up a long barrel revolver and demanded money from the safe.

Lt. Maccini said the men did get some money and then ran away.  Fortunately there were no injuries in the incident.

Police also said that the two men they are still searching for are both African American, in their 20’s and were both wearing hooded sweatshirts at the time of the robbery.

Police also told me this is not the first time this store has been robbed.  The store clerk working during this robbery also told 22News the last time the store was robbed was about a month ago. In Saturday’s instance, no arrests have been made yet.
