Holyoke teachers hold community rally

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – Concerned Holyoke school teachers urged parents to support their efforts to improve the negative grades the state has given some schools in their city.

Holyoke teachers held a community rally Saturday to get their message across. The teachers referred to what they called the growing crisis facing Holyoke schools.

Teacher Diane Baez told 22News how parents can help their cause.

“Parents need to realize that much we need their support and their knowledge of what’s going on and they can be involved just as much as everyone else,” said Diane Baez.

Saturday’s event asking for more support from parents was attended by dozens of teachers and leaders of their union.
