Zipcar comes to Holyoke

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – The city of Holyoke is partnering with Zipcar to offer an affordable way for people to rent a car.

Zipcar was set up at Veterans Park in Holyoke Thursday to show off their cars and to allow people to sign up.

The Zipcar program allows residents of Holyoke and people who come to the city to rent a car for an hour or for a day.

There is a membership fee and for around $8.00 an hour or $69 a day you can rent one of the cars. The cars Zipcar offers are EPA fuel efficient vehicles.

Over the years the Zipcar program has been expanding across western Massachusetts.

“We base this on demand so as the program continues to grow and as Holyoke continues to embrace car sharing we’ll go ahead and grow the fleet here,” said Craig Burns Zipcar Senior Manager of University Accounts

The Zipcar program is also available at Springfield College, Smith College and UMass.
