Suspects sought after man was cut near his eye

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP)- A man was taken to the hospital following a fight in the Six Corners section of Springfield early Thursday morning.

Lt. Henry Gagnon of the Springfield Police Department told 22News that officers were sent to 34 Hawthorne Street around 1:45 A.M. for the report of a man that had been injured.

When officers got there, they found a 24-year-old man with a cut over his left eye.

The man reported that he had been walking when he was confronted by a man and two women.

During a fight with the people that confronted him, he was cut with some sort of cutting instrument, Lt. Gagnon said.

He was taken by ambulance to Baystate Medical Center and is expected to be okay.

No description of the suspects that confronted the victim was provided.

Police are still investigating.
