NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A hidden cash craze that has been taking parts of the country by storm has come to Connecticut.
If you’re not familiar with it, someone leaves cash in an envelope in a public place, such as a tree or fire hydrant, then posts clues online leading you to the cash.
It’s been done in California and other states, and now there’s a copycat doing the same thing in New Haven. This person goes by the Twitter handle @NewHeavenCT.
People are finding the cash. Gerry McDermott saw a post on Craigslist that said “Free money, hidden on the Green, available now.” Sure enough, he found an envelope with $32 inside.
Check that Twitter page for clues to when and where money is hidden.
