22News to broadcast all Patriots pre-season games

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – WWLP-22News will broadcast all four of the upcoming pre-season New England Patriots games.

The first game is August 7 when the Pats head to Washington to take on the Redskins. On August 15, the action takes place on home turf at Gillette Stadium against the Philadelphia Eagles. The third game is scheduled for August 22, when the Pats will take on the Carolina Panthers. On August 28, the Patriots will travel to Metlife Stadium for the final pre-season game against the New York Giants. All pre-season games begin at 7:30 p.m.

President and General Manager of WWLP Bill Pepin said, “We are very pleased to bring all four pre-season games to our viewers this year. We know how much our local viewers want to see their home team.”

22News will continue to provide NFL action all season long by airing 19 primetime games which include the opening Thursday night game on September 4, the opening Sunday Night Football game on September 7, and NBC’s annual Thanksgiving night game. The remainder of the schedule will be Sunday Night Football match-ups.

Heading into the post-season, the January 3 or 4 Wild Card Playoff game and the January 10 or 11 Divisional Playoff Game will also air on 22News. Finally, on February 1, 22News will conclude the season with live coverage of Super Bowl XLIX from Arizona.
