Body found near Muller Bridge in Holyoke

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – Police in Holyoke are investigating a suspicious death.

Holyoke Police Sgt. Joseph Garcia told 22News their detectives are trying to determine if the body they found near train tracks was the victim of a homicide.

The body is that of a woman, and was found just after 5:30 Sunday morning lying near the train tracks near the Muller Bridge.

Lt. Jim Albert told 22News they are waiting for autopsy and toxicology tests, which are scheduled for Monday.  Lt. Albert said they have receiving some cooperation in the area and are continuing to work the case.

The victim was described as a 28-year-old woman from Chicopee, but her name has not been made public.

The Muller Bridge brings Route 202 into South Hadley.
