Children involved in school bus crash allowed to go home

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – 22News has new information on the school bus crash in Holyoke that injured several children.

We now know that more than two dozen children sought treatment at Holyoke Medical Center after the accident.

Hospital Spokeswoman Nancy Coley told 22News a total of 26 children were evaluated at Holyoke Medical Center. Their injuries were considered minor and all have gone home.

The school bus driver has also been released from the hospital.

The driver of the dump truck involved in the crash was brought to a different hospital. No word yet on his condition.

The school bus and dump truck collided at the intersection of Lincoln and Pleasant Streets around 3:30 Friday afternoon. The school bus was carrying 30 kids at the time of the crash.
