EASTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – New information Saturday night on the body that was pulled from a pond in Easthampton. Mary Carey of the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office notified 22News that at 4:00 Saturday afternoon, a passerby told police about a body in the water near Emerald Place and Ferry Street.
Easthampton Fire Chief Dave Mottor confirmed that a body was recovered from the waters of what is known as Lower Millpond.
The body is believed to be that of a 53-year-old man who lived nearby.
The death is not being considered suspicious.
A medical examiner is working to determine the exact cause of death. The identity of the man won’t be given out until Sunday or Monday.
