FEEDING HILLS, Mass. (WWLP) – Moose sightings are fairly rare in suburban communities, but not unheard-of, and one of the giant creatures was spotted moving through the center of Feeding Hills early Thursday morning.

22News viewer J. Scibelli sent 22News two photos of a moose walking across the intersection of Routes 57 and 187 around midnight.

The moose population has increased in Massachusetts in recent years thanks to decades of conservation efforts.

While moose sightings can happen at any time of the year, moose are most frequently seen in the autumn months, which is their mating season.
