Heroin, child found in car during Greenfield traffic stop

GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Greenfield Police say a man driving with his child was arrested on heroin possession charges after a traffic stop Wednesday afternoon.

Greenfield Police said Codie Kratt, 20, of Spruce Street, was pulled over on Chapman Street shortly before 4:00PM Wednesday for driving with a revoked registration.

When the officer looked into the car, he reportedly saw an open container of alcohol in the center console and a baggy consistent with a heroin packet on the passenger side. The officer searched the car and found eight bags of heroin and several more empty packets.

Greenfield Police also said Kratt’s child was in the car. DCF has been notified. Kratt was arrested and charged with possession of a Class “A” substance.
