HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – Drivers in Holyoke may notice something different downtown next week.
Mayor Alex Morse announced on his Facebook page Wednesday that the Zipcar fleet is coming to the Paper City.
Zipcar is a membership-based car sharing service that allows residents to use cars by the hour or by the day. You can reserve cars online or with a smart phone.
Back in April, Northampton Mayor David Narkewicz had asked Zipcar to come to downtown Northampton. He said at the time that “Zipcar” is a cost-effective solution to help reduce traffic congestion, and it would free up more parking spaces for shoppers, workers, and visitors.
Based on national studies, two Zipcars downtown could replace up to 30 private cars For information on how you can rent a Zipcar, click here.
