CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Hundreds of kids got to experience what it’s like to work on a military base Wednesday.
200 students from Chicopee, Holyoke and Springfield went on a trip to Westover Air Reserve Base for a youth outreach event.
They got to go inside a C-5 and see how military workers do their jobs.
Xavier Rosario, a Central High School senior, told 22News, “It’s just real cool, how heavy everything is and how much weight they have to put on their backs to be able to do the job that they have to do.”
Event organizers say the event is designed to encourage kids to become future leaders whether it’s in the air force or other industry.
