Students learn the dangers of distracted driving

AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) – The Distractology 101 tour bus rolled into Agawam High School Tuesday. The interactive program features high-tech driving simulators that show drivers the perils of texting and driving.

22News spoke to students about the importance of staying focused on the road.

Laura Wynne, a sophomore at Agawam High School, said, “In just a second, a lot can change on the road and you always have to be ready and alert.”

Tyler Loubier, a junior at Agawam High School, said, “I’ve learned I definitely shouldn’t text and drive, I can tell you that.”

Each year, more than 3,000 people are killed in a car crashes involving a distracted driver.
