FLORENCE, Mass. (WWLP) – For seasonal businesses, a successful Memorial Day weekend can have a big impact on their yearly earnings.
Fortunately, this past holiday weekend featured little rain and warm temperatures, which made it a good start to summer for those operating seasonally.
22News took our cameras to Look Park in the Florence section of Northampton Tuesday. Director of Operations Dan Taylor told 22News that they had one of the busiest Memorial Day weekends in the last several years.
“We sold out of picnic sites probably around one or two o’clock, early in the day. On top of that, our pedal boats were sold out since about 2:30pm, 2 o’clock, and bumper boats again a sell out later on in the day; just a lot of people in the park,” Taylor said.
He told 22News that the weekend’s crowds were a positive start to the summer, but the rest of the season will depends heavily on the weather.
