WARE, Mass. (WWLP) – People in the eastern Hampden County Town of Ware took time out of their day Monday to honor those who gave their lives in our armed forces.
The Memorial Day parade stepped off from the American Legion on Maple Street. It ended at the Veteran Park with a ceremony.
Retiring State Senator Stephen Brewer was among the officials to address the crowd. He spoke about the growing scandal over treatment delays at this country’s VA hospitals.
“Because it is not enough to just honor our veterans today, but it’s to give them the medical the housing and the mental, any assistance that they need and that’s what they deserve,” said Sen. Brewer.
A preliminary report on all the VA scandal is expected in three weeks with an extensive review done by August.
