Tribute paid to veterans in East Longmeadow

EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) – East Longmeadow residents turned out for a parade and a memorial ceremony at East Longmeadow High School late Monday morning.

Veterans joined local dignitaries in the march and memorial wreath laying.

East Longmeadow American Legion Post 293 Commander Brian Tidlund told 22News what make their memorial day service stand out.
“It’s the people in the town, because they’re so supportive of us.  They come out to see the services they’re behind their veterans,” said Tidlund.

After a formal ceremony inside the high school, veterans placed flowers at the Veterans Memorial at the Town Square.

East Longmeadow’s observance of Memorial Day was just one of many that were held throughout western Massachusetts on Tuesday.
