Car fire in Springfield’s Forest Park neighborhood investigated

SPRINGFIELD, Mass (WWLP)-  A car that caught fire in the Forest Park neighborhood early Monday morning has prompted a police and fire investigation

Police and fire crews were called to area 41 Malden Street around 12:30 a.m. for the report of a car completely engulfed in flames.

No one was injured.

Lt. Henry Gagnon of the Springfield Police Department said that the Springfield Arson and Bomb Squad is investigating to see whether the fire was intentionally set.

Lt. Gagnon said there was also a report of shots fired in the area, but officers did not find anything.
