Memorial Day Weekend observances

Memorial Day Weekend observances. All events are on Monday unless noted otherwise.

Hampden County

  • Agawam: Various ceremonies starting at 7:20 a.m. Parade at 10:30 a.m. from Agawam Middle School to Veterans Green on Main Street.
  • Chicopee: Parade begins at 10 a.m. at American Legion, past City Hall and up Front Street to Veterans Memorial in front of Chicopee Academy at 11:15 a.m.
  • East Longmeadow: Parade steps off at 10:50 a.m. from high school.
  • Hampden: Parade at 10 a.m. from St. Mary’s Church parking lot to the Civil War Memorial.
  • Holyoke: Events begin at the War Memorial at 9 a.m. Veterans place wreath at the John F. Kennedy Memorial at 9:30 a.m. Parade begins at 10:30 a.m. from Appleton and Chestnut Streets. The parade will end at Veterans Park where a ceremony will be held.
  • Ludlow: Parade begins at 9 a.m. on Winsor Street between Worcester and Newbury Street
  • Palmer: Parade begins at 10:45 a.m., marching from Thorndike Street to the War Memorial on Converse Street.
  • Springfield: Smith and Wesson Veterans Flag Pole rededication ceremony at 11 a.m. on Roosevelt Ave.
  • West Springfield: Parade at 11 a.m. to around noon from Veteran’s Field on City View Ave. to the Town Common.
  • Westfield: Parade begins at 10 a.m. at Mestek on North Elm Street, across bridge to Parker Memorial Park for ceremony.

Hampshire County

  • Amherst: The Annual Memorial Day parade held Monday at 9 a.m. at the Town Common, departure at 9:30 a.m.
  • Belchertown: 8:30 a.m. South Cemetery salute. 10 a.m. parade begins at town hall. Ends at Town Common with ceremony.
  • Easthampton: Parade begins at 10:30 a.m. from the intersection of Cottage and Clark street.
  • Hadley: Parade at 2 p.m. from American Legion on Route 9, along West Street ending at the north end of the Town Common.
  • Hatfield: Parade begins at 12:30 p.m. from American Legion, down Maple to Main, to town hall.
  • Northampton: Parade begins at Trinity Row in Florence at 10 a.m., down Main Street to Park Street Cemetery where there will be a ceremony.
  • South Hadley: Various ceremonies begin at 7 a.m. Parade at 11 a.m. begins at the high school, will finish at noon at town hall where a memorial service will be held.\
  • Ware: Parade at 1:00 p.m. begins at American Legion on Maple Street, route goes from Maple Street to South Street, to Main Street, followed by ceremonies at Veterans Park.

Franklin County

  • Ashfield: Parade begins at 10 a.m. at town hall, proceeds up Main Street to Ashfield Plain Cemetery for a second ceremony honoring veterans.
  • Deerfield: Parade begins at 8:20 a.m. Frontier Regional School. Ceremony on the town common at 8:35 a.m.
  • Greenfield: Parade begins at 10 a.m. from middle school, down Federal Street to Town Common, then up Conway Street to Veteran’s Mall.
  • Montague: Service at 11:15 on Sundayat the village green.
  • Orange: Observance at 8:30 a.m. at the Water Street Fire Station. Parade starts at 11 a.m. at the post office.
