GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Business owners look forward to heavy traffic along the Mohawk Trail in Franklin County this Memorial Day weekend.
Luckily, this year, Route 2 will be free of construction bottlenecks for the next few days both into, and coming out of Greenfield. That’s welcome news for Karen Hicks of Hager’s Farm market on the Mohawk Trail in Shelburne Falls. She’s expecting a lot of travelers from Connecticut and New Jersey.
“People are starting to open their homes up in the areas around here, rivers getting boaters with rafting and water sports.”
Columbus Day weekend attracts the most Mohawk Trail holiday traffic each year. But Memorial Day weekend is also known to generate a substantial amount of traffic.
