Woman crashed vehicle into Longmeadow store

LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) – One person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries after a woman crashed her vehicle into a store in Longmeadow Thursday afternoon.

Longmeadow Police Lt. Gary Fontaine told 22News a 79 year old woman from East Longmeadow drove into the Lacrosse Unlimited store on Williams Street around 1:00PM Thursday afternoon.  There were two employees inside the store at the time.  One suffered minor cuts to his arm and was taken to the hospital for treatment, while the other employee and the woman who drove into the store were not injured.

Lt. Fontaine said there were no mechanical issues with the woman’s vehicle, and that the woman may have hit the gas instead of the brake.

The store sustained extensive damaged to the front window, and to merchandise inside the store was also damaged.  Lt. Fontaine said the store will be unable to reopen until repairs are made.
