First on 22News: Richard Sullivan to become Governor’s Chief of Staff

BOSTON (WWLP) – In a story you saw first on and 22News, Governor Deval Patrick will appoint Richard Sullivan as his Chief of Staff for the remainder of his administration. Sullivan, the former mayor of Westfield from 1994 to 2007, is currently the Secretary of Energy and Environmental affairs. Between those two positions, he was the head of the state’s Department of Conservation and Recreation.

The official announcement was made at 11:00 Thursday morning.

Sullivan will become Gov. Patrick’s Chief of Staff on June 9th.

Maeve Vallely Bartlett, the current EEA undersecretary will replace Sullivan in that department.
