Masked suspect sought in series of robberies

ENFIELD, Conn. (WWLP) – Enfield police are investigating three armed robberies in town that happened over a period of just two and a half hours Monday night.

According to a news release sent to 22News by Enfield police, the first robbery happened around 6:30 P.M. at the Bedding Barn on Palomba Drive. A light-skinned man wearing a mask and dark clothing robbed the store without showing a weapon. He made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Around 8:45, a light-skinned man wearing a mask entered the Northern Lights Smoke Shop on Enfield St. (Route 5), and showed what appeared to be a long-barrel gun. He then left with cash.

Less than ten minutes later, a man with the same description showed a long-barrel gun at Steve’s Boston Seafood on Route 5 near the Massachusetts/Connecticut state line, and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Lt. Bill Zaczynski told 22News that after the robbery at Steve’s Boston Seafood, the suspect was seen getting into a green Jeep, and driving north toward Longmeadow.

According to Enfield Police, the suspect in the second and third robberies are believed to be the same person, but it is not clear at this time whether the suspect in the first robbery was the same man.
