NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – The wounded staff member at Northampton’s Afiya Respite House is expected to survive her stab wounds allegedly inflected overnight by one of the respite home residents.
22-year-old Darreus Lisenby has been charged with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon, a pair of scissors, at the respite house at 265 Jackson Street.
Northampton police Detective Patrick Moody told 22News, Lisenby allegedly attacked woman working there with the scissors, stabbed her repeatedly as well as punching her.
Lisenby is also accused of chasing another woman on the staff into the woods threatening her with the scissors, but she got away.
The worker who wasn’t as fortunate is recovering from her wounds at Baystate Medical Center.
