Record breaking numbers for this year’s Agawam Relay for Life

AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP)- Fighting back against cancer. Hundreds of people hit the track in Agawam tonight in support of Relay for Life.

It’s the third year Agawam has held their relay event, and this year there were 42 teams and 571 participants. This is a time to celebrate those who have survived, and are still battling cancer.

22News spoke with a cancer survivor who says it’s all part of the healing process. Joan Foster said, “There’s nothing like sharing your story and especially with other survivors. It really helps alot to heal, and to get it out of you, to know that you’re not alone.”

So far, the Agawam Relay for Life surpassed their goal, and raised over 70-thousand dollars. The event runs until 10 o’clock Saturday morning.
