CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Chicopee’s Kielbasa Festival returns this week after a 16 year absence. Crews spent the day Wednesday setting up the children’s rides and food booths at Szot Park.
The Festival that honors the iconic Polish food starts Thursday, May 15th at Noon and continues until Sunday, May 18th.

22News found Chicopee residents enthusiastic about the festival’s return.
“I’m very happy to see it come back. The kids, the grandchildren, have a lot of fun. A lof of good polish food,” said Christine Kaczmarski.
“A lot of memories a lot of memories. I remember what they used to be down in the center they would block off the streets, such a good time,” said Mildred Paradise.
For many years the Kielbasa Festival was held in a lot behind the old Fairfield Mall. The Festival this weekend takes place in Chicopee’s Szot Park.
