HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP)- A portion of Jarvis Avenue was closed early Wednesday morning after a car crashed into a utility pole.
Lt. Larry Cournoyer of the Holyoke Police Department told 22News the crash occurred around midnight and the utility pole had been sheered off from the bottom and power lines were down in the roadway.
The driver refused medical treatment and there were no serious injuries, Lt. Cournoyer said.
Police are still investigating but speed may have been a factor, Lt. Cournoyer said.
Utility crews had to put in a new pole and are in the process of stringing up the electrical wires, Lt. Cournoyer said.
Lt. Cournoyer said the roadway could be closed for a couple hours, but should be re-opened in time for morning traffic.
