NORTHAMPTON, Mass (WWLP) – The Better Business Bureau is asking shoppers to be aware of Mother’s Day schemers. In 2013, consumers filed 557 complaints against florists, restaurants, jewelers and online shops.
Do your research first and check the reviews of a business. Other ideas; request a receipt, ask about refund policies, allow enough time for shipping, and make sure the business knows how to reach you if there’s a problem.
Sabastian Neal from Hadley told 22News about their Mother’s Day gift buying experiences. “I always try to outshine everybody and get the best present for my Mom. There’s been a couple occasions where I’ve tried to get her a bunch of flowers and they’ve ended up either dying or falling out of the bouquet.”
The Better Business Bureau is asking you to be especially careful placing flower orders online. They say schemes exist where you can be emailed fake vouchers, coupons or discounts.
